Mary L. Leisring
Mary L. Leisring, a life long Catholic,
grew up in Houston, Texas. She and husband Charles moved to Denver,
CO in 1978. They have been married for 31 years. Since 1978, she has
lived in Denver where she is a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church.
She is a Lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and is very
active in the parish and tries to assist wherever there is a need.
Mary's special interest in being black and
Catholic started in 1987 when she participated in the renewal of the
Black Catholic Congress held in Washington, D.C.
In addition to her current position as
Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministry in the Archdiocese of Denver,
Mary is Regional Coordinator for black Catholics in southwestern United States.
She is also a member of the leadership group know as the National Association
of Black Catholic Administrators (NABCA).
