Welcome to The National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC) new web site forum!
By Valerie Washington
The National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC) has
designed a new forum/message board to involve you in an ongoing discussion and
to post resource models and best practices on the eight Declaration of
Principles from the Congress IX Pastoral Plan of Action. These principles
include: Africa, Social Justice, Racism, HIV/AIDS, Youth and Young Adults,
Catholic Education, Parish Life and Spirituality. We are looking for examples of
programs, activities, resources and best practices which have been successful in
your parish, organization, and ministry so that we can share them with Catholics
across the country.
We all have challenges as we work tirelessly for our
faith, and the truth is we need some extra help. These challenges may include a
busy life, funding for projects, commitment from others, new ideas, support from
colleagues, communication barriers, lack of knowledge to carry out our plans,
insufficient ready made resources, successful models to follow and much more.
Our response to those who need our help is the
development of this new web site forum. We want to know your "best kept secret"
with the implementation of programs for the eight principles. Post them to the
forum web site, share the spiritual wealth, pass it on!!!
Please visit the new forum at
http://www.nbccongress.org/forum
and register to be a user. Read the forum's "Frequently Asked Questions" section
so that you can learn more about why we are using the forum, the eight
principles of the Pastoral Plan of Action, the NBCC Leadership Commissions,
background information on each principle, how to participate in the forum and
forum use guidelines.
We also plan to update the forum so that you may
include your response to the articles submitted in the Black Catholic Monthly
online newsletter.
We appreciate your time in posting this much needed
information.
May God continue to bless you, your family and all
that you do for others!
Sincerely yours,
Valerie Washington
