Purity, Abstinence, Chastity Support Group

What is a purity, abstinence, chastity support group? You've heard about AA, NA, SA, cancer, diabetes grief and all the other support groups. Now there is a support group for those singles who are fed up, tired of relationships with people who talk about they are "good" Christians, Jews or Muslims or "people of faith" yet when you go on a date or have an intimate relationship with them they are no different than "worldly" or secular people. [They use catch phrases like: "We're only human.]

This group, which began in answer to several singles requests last year, is for singles who believe "True Love Waits" is for adults as well as teens. They believe we need to stop telling teens to practice abstinence if we adults leading them don't practice it. This group is for individuals who are tired of feeling like "a booty call" or "a hunk", tired of feeling used and long for people passionate about purity of life and pursuit of God and His kingdom.

By the way, what do chastity, purity, and abstinence mean? Come and share and meet other singles struggling and even happily maintaining "the possible dream".

The Purity, Abstinence, Chastity Support group, an ecumenical effort (first hosted by Zion Baptist of NW Washington for 6 months) is now meeting at:

  • Holy Name Catholic Church in the fellowship hall under the church at 920 11th St. NE Two blocks from Florida Ave. NE and 4 blocks from Galludet University,
  • Third Fridays of each month, 7-8:30pm.
  • Call - Andrea 202-269-3449 for more information
