The Archdiocese of Detroit

The Archdiocese of Detroit is currently looking for someone to support and develop the overall work of Black Catholic Ministries in the Archdiocese of Detroit; Working directly under the auxiliary bishop who serves as liaison to the Cardinal for Black Catholic Ministries in the Archdiocese of Detroit.

  1. Ability to project a friendly, sincere and hospitable manner with the ability to develop collaborative relationships.
  2. Excellent writing and speaking communication skills.
  3. Coordinate speakers, events, and workshops before the Archdiocese.
  4. A believing and practicing Catholic committed to the teaching and mission of the Catholic Church.
  5. Bachelor, B.A. Degree
  6. Archdiocesan certification in Pastoral Ministry or Catechetics of at least level 1.
  7. Familiarity with the National Black Congress X Plan of Action.
  8. Working knowledge of the ecclesial documents on the international, national and local levels that address the principles and practices guiding Black Catholic Ministry in the Catholic Church in the United States.
  9. Minimum of five years or more of experience in parish-based or archdiocesan based ministry in the Catholic Church.
  10. Ability to travel throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit, sometimes on evening and weekends, in order to participate in Archdiocesan, Regional, Vicariate and parish meetings and activities relevant to ministry among Black Catholics in the Archdiocese.
  11. Familiarity with Archdiocesan and civil agencies relevant to the work of promotion the just treatment of immigrants.
  12. Ability to use modes of communication for the desired effective use of the internet to promote the work of the Church.
