The formation of the Black Catholic
Catechetical Leadership truly is a collective body born out of a need
for us to concretely practice the principle of "ujima"- us helping us.
The 1987 National Black Catholic Congress, The African American
Catechetical Camp Meetin' of 1993, The Black Catholic Catechetical Think
Tank at Xavier University in 1999 and its follow-up- Think Tank II at
St. Mary's Seminary-Baltimore as well as the strong work of the National
Black Sisters Conference and the Institute for Black Catholic Studies
all gave direction to the formation of this BCCNetwork. The Leadership
Team of BCCNetwork include…
