“Christ is With Us: Celebrating the Gifts of the Sacraments”

Group sessions include: African American Catholic worship; Black Catholic Spirituality for Men; Vocations; Marriage/Family Life; Post abortion healing; Teaching the Sacrament of Confirmation; The Holy Spirit's Role in the Seven (7) Sacraments and Evangelization vs Deus Caritas; What Does Co-workers in the Vineyard of the Lord have to do with being African-American?; What Black Catholics have to offer Black Protestants; Marian Devotion, Sacramentals and how they help us live the Pro-Life Agenda; Mobilizing Black Catholic Parishes around HIV/AIDS education and prevention; Keeping Our Children HIV Negative; Blacks making the commitment in Catholic Education - "A Pearl of Great Price!"; Sustaining Catholic Education in and for the Black Community; additional workshops on the seven sacraments and the NBCC eight principles, and many more topics

3. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be held on the first floor in several rooms during plenary and group sessions. We are looking for priests to hear confessions. The diocese of Buffalo has issued the following statement for priests wanting to serve as confessors:

"Every validly ordained priest in good standing with his own Diocese has the right to celebrate the Eucharist where ever he travels. The same validly ordained priest has the faculty to hear confession if he is so allowed within his own diocese. Permission from our bishop will be assured if we kindly request all priests attending the Congress who are not from the Buffalo Diocese, to submit a letter from their Bishop stating that they are a priest in good standing within their own diocese or a copy of their Diocesan ID card that some Diocese may have."
