Special Offerings

6 Youth Forums, "Where Do We Go From Here?" (Facilitators: Teen Members of YTPC)

These sessions are facilitated by teenage members of the Youth Track Planning Committee in the Breakthrough rooms. There will be no presentation, but instead, all participants will engage in discussions and activities that relate to the Congress X experience. Culminating activities will be the creation of resolutions and action statements by all teenage attendees.

(Offered once on Saturday morning)

Youth and Young Adult Cyber Center (Christopher Boudy and Justin Jack, Coordinators)

Take a giant leap forward in the 21st Century of Catholic Ministry. Congress youth, young adults and youth ministers will be captivated by this hands-on exhibition of new technologies, all to enhance personal use, youth and young adult ministry. Visitors will be given access to computers, games, exhibits, demonstrations, creative new ideas and much more. Drop by to learn innovative ways to communicate, educate, evangelize, manage business and entertain so you can be more efficient and effective as a minister back home.

(Open 9am - 9pm during non-scheduled Congress time slots)

Critical Concerns Booths (Millicent Hawkins, Coordinator)

Help the Church to reach out and touch society. Stroll through eight fascinating interactive booths that focus on Critical Concerns identified by the National Black Catholic Congress. Learn the issues. Study the arguments. Examine the controversies. Give input on solutions. See hear and touch exhibits presented through art, music, media, artifacts, literature, and more.

Youth Recreation Event (Brenda Stubblefield and Lauren Mostiller, Coordinators)

Don't miss this exciting outing at a local recreational facility a few minutes away from the Congress hotel. Only $15.00 per person entitles you to two-way charter bus transportation, swimming in an Olympic sized pool, volleyball and basketball, weight room, game rooms, refreshments and dancing. What a wonderful opportunity this will be to get away from the hotel and socialize with other youth from far and near. This event is open to youth ages 13 to 18. One mature adult 23 years old or older must accompany every ten youth. Attendees must wear tennis shoes and appropriate clothing. All attendees must purchase a pass.
