Mr.
Arthur C. Jones studied the historical, cultural and psychological
foundations of African American folk music.
Mr. Jones has conducted numerous concert and lecture programs on the
subject of slave spirituals, in community, church and academic
settings throughout the United States.
In addition, Mr. Jones has received funding from the Colorado
Endowment for the Humanities to begin work on a television documentary
program which will focus on the cultural, psychological, historical
and social significance of African American slave songs. Books
