Deborah L. Plummer, Ph.D.

Deborah L. Plummer, Ph.D.  : Black Authors : Black Writers : African American Authors

Dr. Plummer brings to each diversity and organizational development initiative over 20 years of training and consulting experience and a great deal of enthusiasm. In addition to being President and Principal Consultant at D.L. Plummer & Associates, Dr. Plummer is a psychologist and a Professor at Cleveland State University where she is the Director of the Diversity Management Program.

As a researcher and author, Deborah has published numerous articles and written several book chapters on managing diversity. She has edited a professional text on the field of diversity management and written a non-fiction book on communicating across racial lines. Deborah is a noted speaker of numerous formal paper presentations and invited presentations to the professional community and a regular guest psychologist for News Channel 5. She maintains a small private practice counseling individuals, couples and families and has been appointed by the governor to the State of Ohio Board of Psychology.

Dr. Plummer received her Ph.D. from Kent State University in Counseling Psychology. In addition, she is a graduate of the Post-Graduate Training Program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland with a specialization in working with groups and holds a Diversity Management Certificate from NTL Institute and a Change Leadership Certificate from Linkage, Inc., DePaul University. Her M.Ed. in Community Counseling is also from Kent State University. She received her B.A. from Notre Dame College of Ohio and has been awarded their Outstanding Alumnae Award.

All associates hold advanced degrees, have specific training or coursework in diversity management and possess senior level consulting skills.
