As you know, The National Black Catholic Congress X will be held July 12-15, 2007 in Buffalo, New York at the Buffalo Convention Center. Our theme for this Congress encourages us take a closer look at the giftedness of the Sacraments and how they speak to our lives today by looking at their relationship to the Declaration of Principles that we presented at Congress IX in Chicago, Illinois. These principles include Africa, Catholic Education, HIV & AIDS, Parish Life, Racism, Social Justice, Spirituality and Youth and Young Adults. This will be a time of working with an agenda that sets a course of action and direction, teaching, preaching, and spiritual enrichment, as we study how the Sacramental life relates and contributes to how we live. We are also planning a Eucharistic Congress celebration during the program. Adult, young adults and youth workshops will be offered to highlights these connections, to revisit and reclaim the gifts of the Sacraments, and to present concrete resources that will help us carry the message of the Congress back to our parishes and communities. We will begin to post workshop topics and speaker information soon. Look forward to it in a future web site newsletter. There will be keynote addresses, plenary sessions, breakout sessions, witness talks, liturgical services, and much more. Exhibitors will display their products and services. Most importantly, this will be a time to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, as we together reconnect and rejoice in these grace-filled signs of God's love for us. Days of Reflection in preparation for Congress X will be held in several dioceses. Please join our team leaders as they prepare you for this momentous event. Visit our Congress Directory to locate your region and contact the NBCC diocesan implementation team leader for details.
